About Us
The Santa Clara Unified Council of PTAs (SCU Council PTA) builds a bridge between the units, district, state and National PTA, and creates a support system for the grass-root associations. We proudly serve 22 PTAs in schools within Santa Clara Unified School District.
The purpose of Santa Clara Unified Council of PTAs according to bylaws shall be:
To promote within the council territory the interests of the National PTA, the California State PTA and the Sixth District PTA.
To unify and strengthen its associations by counseling and encouragement.
To develop and coordinate association and council projects and activities in the interest of children and youth.
To act as a clearing house for an exchange of ideas and experiences.
To serve as a channel of communication between the district and local associations.
To provide opportunities for leadership training.
To promote public opinion favorable to the interests of children and youth.
To compile a roster of council officers and associations according to the plan of the California State PTA.
To provide information on proper procedures at the direction of the PTA district president in the event of dissolution of any association or an association disbands.
